WTC-KY Internship Program

Our selection process for our internship program is highly competitive, however, our interns have rated us as one of the best places to work.  In addition, past interns have been accepted into firms such as PNC, JP Morgan Chase, Expeditors International, and DRE Medical after the completion of the program. 

Trade Research Internship Program

The WTC-KY Trade Research Internship provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in researching international markets and trade compliance issues. This is excellent preparation for careers in import/export, government compliance and international sales and marketing.


Time Commitment: 2-3 days per week; 10-20 hours


Hourly Rate: Unpaid; Course Credit Offered


Job Description:

  • Perform research on international trade regulations and overseas market(s) utilizing internal databases, WTC library and online resources
  • Draft summaries of current trade issues for clients

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal and career interest in international commerce
  • Strong academic record
  • Related course work in international affairs and/or international business
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • A second language is preferred, especially Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or Mandarin Chinese
  • Junior, senior, or graduate/professional school status
  • Technology / IT experience is a plus

Event Planning/Marketing Internship Program

 

The WTC-KY Events Planning/Marketing Internship provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge about how to organize and manage educational programs. This is excellent preparation for careers in international sales, marketing and business education.

 

Time Commitment: 2-3 days per week, 10-20 hrs.


Hourly Rate: Unpaid; Course Credit Offered


Job Description:

 

  • Telephone members and prospects to market events, programs and services.
  • Assist with organization, marketing, and administration of seminars and special events.
  • Take appropriate initiatives to ensure success of programs in process.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Strong academic record
  • Junior or higher class standing
  • Good telephone, writing, and office skills in English; second language a plus
  • Relevant course work, including marketing, international marketing, business communication, and/or public administration
  • Strong personal and career interest in sales and marketing
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Technology / IT experience a plus
